You may have seen this car before! It looks much like the discontinued Artega GT, but it is much more than that. Believe it or not, this fairly simple, humble red sports car may be the most important vehicle you will see this year. It may be the most important vehicle for the entire future of motoring. For one, it is German (and they don’t mess around), secondly, it is built as a testbed platform and for three, it has an EV drivetrain which can be easily replaced with another one in the name of testing and in the name of science.
Developed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Systems and Device Technology, the Artega based EV will provide the ultimate platform for testing different kinds of electric propulsion technologies in the coming years.
While this particular model will never come in production, it will, apparently, influence many of the EVs of future since German scientists plan to develop some impressive tech which will be used for on every electric vehicle of tomorrow.
